Natural Skin Treatment

Hey there and welcome to Natural Skin Treatment.

There’s a plethora of products out there for your face and body.  All of them say they’ll be great for your skin -but that may not be the case.
Here at NST, we find the best natural stuff (some from mother nature, others from over the counter) that is good for you – inside and out.

Our first suggestion for a great natural skin treatment - A dry brush exfoliation. And no, its not painful.  Exfoliation removes dead skin cells from your body, revealing
the more healthy skin underneath.  Best of all – it helps to get rid of cellulite!

Think of it like polishing your coffee table.  As wiping the dust away reveals the beautiful wood underneath ( assuming you have a wood coffee table) a dry brush exfoliation can polish your skin. A good invigorating skin brushing has some additional benefits. It stimulates lymph and blood circulation, which can help with getting rid of puffiness. Brushing can have a calming affect on the nervous system and helps with digestion.  It can help to tighten skin and remove cellulite.  Brushing encourages cell renewal (which give you a fresh, bright appearance).  Overall it can help many of your body systems work even better.

Before you shower, take a soft bristled skin brush. Make sure the fibers are natural and not synthetic.  Its important not to scratch the skin.  Also a long handled brush makes it easy to reach certain parts of your body. Always brush towards your heart and in a small circular motion.  Start with the soles of your feet and work up.  At your abdomen stroke counter clockwise. Brush from your back to your abdomen. End going down the arm to the hands.  Be careful to avoid any delicate or sensitive areas.  Brush vigorously but again be gentle.  You can brush over your body more than once.  Follow with a warm shower with a cool rinse of water at the end.   The splash of cold gets your circulation stimulated.

The only trick if finding the time to do a good skin brushing.  Some experts advocate doing it daily.  Others say a couple times a day.  As a general rule of thumb add skin brushing to you natural skin care treatment at least once a week.
